Ashtanga is a system of yoga transmitted by the Jois family in Mysore, india.

The Ashtanga system is designed to purify the body, promote proper functioning of the digestive system, build strength, and restore range of motion to the body. The method of practice taught in Ashtanga Yoga relies on linking postures with deep, even breathing and steady gazing with the eyes. Practicing offers the opportunity to tune in and tune out all that fills our hours and days.

Linking breath and movement while using the Ashtanga Yoga method as a framework allows the body to be worked and the mind to focus. This brings physical stamina and mental clarity in a way that few of us are able to experience in our daily lives. Kristin has utilized the practice of Ashtanga for over 10 years and it is a vital tool in her life to connect with her physical body and allow space to connect with the God she daily relies on for hope and inner strength.
